Position Summary/Purpose:  

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this role, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide high-quality care and support to our patients. You will assist in the implementation of treatment plans designed to improve patients' mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities. Your responsibilities will include guiding patients through therapeutic exercises, administering treatments, and providing education to patients and their families.

 

Qualifications: 

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program
  • Certification / Licensure: Current or pending state licensure

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Counsel patients and their families on what to do following treatment. 
  • Observe the patients they are working with before, during, and after therapy and report notes to the Physical Therapist. 
  • Assign specific exercises for the patient and help the patient do these exercises. 
  • Use devices, such as walkers, and other equipment to help patients regain movement and reduce pain. 
  • Use a variety of techniques, including stretching exercises and massage, to treat patients. 
  • Assist patients when moving to and from the therapy area.
