Physical Therapist

The Physical Therapist's main role is to provide high-quality physical therapy services and ensure a positive patient experience. They evaluate patients, develop treatment plans, and administer treatments to improve functional status. The Physical Therapist organizes, supervises, and delivers patient-centered care.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program
• Current license as a Physical Therapist in the state of Washington
• Preferably a member of the APTA
• One to three years or more of clinical experience preferred

Responsibilities:

• Uphold patient rights and ethical standards
• Assess patients' physical therapy needs, strengths, and problems
• Evaluate mobility, endurance, physical function, and neurological status
• Document comprehensive patient assessments and address critical areas
• Interpret physician referrals and develop treatment plans
• Administer treatments, review progress, and make necessary adjustments
• Involve patients and families in therapy planning and provide home programs
• Collaborate with physicians and staff when needed
• Conduct diagnostic examinations and treatments based on findings
• Provide specific interventions in ambulation, mobility, transfers, endurance, and balance
• Document treatment notes and measure progress toward goals
• Modify care plan if progress is not achieved and reassess with physician orders
• Participate in team meetings, treatment planning, and discharge planning
• Conduct physical therapy group sessions/programs and individual sessions

Education requirements:

• Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy program approved by the Council of Medical Education and Hospitals of the AMA and APTA.
• Must hold a Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy.
• Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in the state of Washington.
• Professional membership in the APTA with active participation is preferred.
