MANAGER OF ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES
(Full Time) Rural Area
Salary Range: $68-100k DOE

• Assists in developing and monitoring a department budget.
• Manages staff including hiring, scheduling, performance evaluation and following the disciplinary process.
• Develops procedures and competencies for direct reports and ensures they are properly trained and educated.
• Provides input into the development of department policy.
• Assists in identifying and initiating department process improvements.
• Measures and monitors staff productivity.
• Procures or requests necessary resources to efficiently provide services.
• Routinely performs front line staff duties.
• Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Technical Services

• Advises the Director of Support Services and evaluates and makes recommendations for environmental hygiene maintenance.
• Conducts inspections of facilities to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
• Oversees linen and cleaning materials orders ensuring proper inventory on hand.
• Uses data to drive decisions with departmental leaders to manage departmental linen supply levels.
• Ensures regulated medical waste is handled, packaged, stored and disposed of in accordance with federal and state regulations, and appropriate documentation is maintained.
• Manages EVS equipment ensuring proper maintenance is completed as necessary.
• Works with the Director of Support Services, the Infection Prevention team and Department leaders ensuring all chemicals, supplies and cleaning techniques used meet organizational needs and regulatory requirements and makes recommendations for changes to improve processes.

Personnel Management

• Supervises and/or performs on-call emergency services when needed.
• Coordinates scheduling and oversees subcontractors and vendors.
• Conducts spot checks, and monthly markings and uses luminometers to ensure cleanliness in the organization.

Required Qualifications

• At least 5 years Environmental Services experience.
• At least 1 year of experience in Healthcare EVS Operations.
• CHEST Certification or the ability to be certified within in 1 year of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 years supervisory experience.
  
• CHESP Certification.
