Cytotechnologist Opportunity

One of our clients in the region has engaged us to help them recruit a Cytotechnologist to join their growing team. You'll play a vital role in diagnosing diseases at the cellular level and making a real difference in the lives of patients.

Position Overview:
We seek a highly skilled and motivated Cytotechnologist to join our client's laboratory team in Austin, TX. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cytology, excellent attention to detail, and a passion for delivering accurate and timely results. This position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform microscopic examination of cellular samples, fluid specimens, and fine needle aspirations to detect abnormalities or signs of disease.
  • Analyze and interpret cellular morphology, identifying abnormal cells or indicators of cancerous or pre-cancerous conditions.
  • Maintain accurate records of findings, documenting results in laboratory information systems and preparing detailed reports for pathologists.
  • Adhere to established protocols and quality control standards to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results.
  • Collaborate with pathologists and other laboratory staff to review challenging cases and provide additional insights or recommendations.
  • Participate in continuous education and training to stay current with advances in cytology techniques and technology.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Cytotechnology or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Certification as a Cytotechnologist (CT) by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent certification.
  • Minimum of one year of experience working as a Cytotechnologist in a clinical laboratory setting.
  • Proficiency in operating and maintaining laboratory equipment, including microscopes and imaging systems.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to accurately interpret complex cellular samples.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues and healthcare providers.
  • Detail-oriented mindset and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of quality and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
