Manager of Health Information

We are seeking an experienced Health Information Management (HIM) professional to oversee the daily operations of our HIM department. This leadership role maintains the accuracy, confidentiality, and integrity of all patient health records while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and accreditation standards.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Direct and coordinate all activities related to medical record maintenance, coding, and documentation standards
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, Joint Commission, CMS, and other regulatory agencies
  • Provide leadership to HIM staff, including performance evaluations, training, and scheduling
  • Collaborate with other departments to enhance data accuracy and support clinical documentation improvement
  • Monitor key performance indicators and implement quality improvement initiatives
  • Oversee secure release of information processes and respond to requests promptly

 

Qualifications:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or a related field.
  • Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered.
  • Health Information Administrator (RHIA) certification is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in HIM, including at least 1 year in a supervisory or management role.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, EHR systems, and applicable regulations.
  • Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
