Medical Diagnostic Sonographer

What You’ll Do
- Perform Comprehensive Ultrasound Exams
Conduct abdominal, pelvic, obstetric, musculoskeletal, and vascular sonography exams to assist in clinical diagnoses. - Operate Equipment with Precision
Utilize and fine-tune ultrasound equipment settings to ensure clear, diagnostic-quality images tailored to patient anatomy and exam requirements. - Ensure Patient Care and Comfort
Greet and position patients with care, clearly explain procedures, and provide a safe, supportive experience throughout their visit. - Collaborate Across Healthcare Teams
Partner with radiologists, physicians, and clinical staff to interpret imaging results and contribute to well-informed, timely medical decisions. - Maintain Accurate Documentation
Record patient data, exam results, and findings in electronic medical records (EMR) systems with accuracy and attention to confidentiality. - Follow Clinical and Regulatory Guidelines
Uphold HIPAA, AIUM, and facility-specific safety and procedural protocols, ensuring a compliant and ethical imaging environment. - Perform Equipment Maintenance
Conduct regular checks on ultrasound equipment, maintain cleanliness and calibration, and promptly report any technical issues. - Commit to Growth
Stay up to date with advances in sonographic technology, participate in continuing education, and pursue professional development opportunities.
Qualifications
Education:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a related health sciences field.
Certification & Licensure:
- Active certification through ARDMS or ARRT(S).
- Washington State licensure as required for Sonographers.
Preferred Experience & Skills:
- At least 1 year of experience in a clinical or hospital setting is preferred.
- Proficiency in operating ultrasound machines and imaging software.
- Deep understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Strong patient communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with attention to detail.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends or on-call as needed.
