Job Summary

As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will deliver therapeutic treatments and modalities under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. Your role involves aiding patients in regaining function and preventing disability following injury, illness, or physical impairment. You will help patients achieve their highest possible level of performance while adapting to their physical limitations. Additionally, you will contribute to departmental operations, quality improvement initiatives, and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities.

Essential Functions

• Apply foundational knowledge of physical medicine, therapy modalities, anatomy, and physiology.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot physical therapy equipment.
• Provide rehabilitative treatments such as exercises, massages, electrical stimulation, paraffin baths, hot/cold packs, traction, and ultrasound as directed.
• Observe and evaluate treatment effectiveness, communicating findings with supervising therapists.
• Assess patient pain and functional limitations, coordinating with physicians when necessary.
• Conduct appropriate patient assessments and reassessments across all age groups, including neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
• Document patient treatments and responses accurately.
• Ensure patient safety and minimize healthcare errors during all aspects of care.

Education and Experience

• Associate's degree from an American Physical Therapy Association-approved program.
• Current licensure or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the relevant state.
• Preferred: One or more years of experience in comprehensive physical therapy practice.

Compensation typically starts between the beginning and midpoint of the salary range, with annual incremental increases based on qualifications and experience.
