Job Description:
In the role of Respiratory Therapist, you will be essential in providing care for patients with breathing and cardiopulmonary disorders. You will work alongside physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans, perform diagnostic tests, and deliver therapeutic treatments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and manage patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary issues.
- Conduct diagnostic tests such as spirometry, arterial blood gases, and pulmonary function tests.
- Monitor patient responses to therapies and make necessary adjustments.
- Administer treatments including oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and chest physiotherapy.
- Educate patients and their families on respiratory conditions and treatment strategies.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and execute patient care plans.
- Maintain detailed patient records and document all interventions and treatments.
- Follow all safety and infection control protocols.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program.
- Valid state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential preferred.
- Proficient clinical skills and knowledge of respiratory care techniques and equipment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
- CPR and BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.
