Job Description: MLee Healthcare is looking for a dedicated Staff Pharmacist to manage and oversee the daily operations of a hospital pharmacy in central Vermont. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pharmaceutical care, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to patient-centered service. As a Staff Pharmacist, you will be responsible for dispensing medications, counseling patients, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.

 

Key Responsibilities of Staff Pharmacist:

  • Accurately and efficiently dispense prescription medications and over-the-counter products, following physician orders and pharmacy guidelines.
  • Provide clear and comprehensive medication counseling to patients, including instructions on proper usage, potential side effects, and interactions with other drugs.
  • Review and verify medication orders, ensuring correct dosage and drug interactions, and maintain proper documentation.
  • Adhere to all federal and state regulations, including pharmacy laws and policies, and ensure the pharmacy operates in compliance with best practices and safety standards.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels, including ordering and restocking medications and supplies as needed.
  • Work closely with healthcare providers, including physicians and nurses, to support patient care and resolve any medication-related issues.
  • Address patient inquiries and concerns with professionalism and empathy, and provide information on health and wellness products.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records, including prescription histories and medication profiles.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited pharmacy school.
  • Licensure: Current and valid Pharmacist license in the state of Vermont.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years of experience as a licensed pharmacist, preferably in a retail or outpatient setting.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of pharmaceuticals, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Technology: Proficiency with pharmacy management systems and electronic health records (EHR).
