What You’ll Do

  • Conduct a Broad Range of Ultrasound Exams
    Perform high-quality imaging procedures including abdominal, OB/GYN, vascular, pelvic, and musculoskeletal scans.
  • Operate and Maintain Imaging Equipment
    Utilize ultrasound equipment with accuracy and efficiency, adjusting settings as needed to ensure diagnostic clarity.
  • Prioritize Patient Comfort and Care
    Clearly explain procedures, position patients appropriately, and maintain a calm, supportive atmosphere throughout each exam.
  • Collaborate with Clinical Teams
    Partner with radiologists, physicians, and other medical professionals to provide essential imaging data that supports patient diagnoses and treatment.
  • Document and Report Thoroughly
    Accurately record exam findings in the electronic medical records (EMR) system in accordance with clinical and regulatory guidelines.
  • Educate and Reassure Patients
    Answer questions and provide supportive guidance to help patients understand their procedure and feel at ease.
  • Ensure Safety and Compliance
    Follow all HIPAA regulations, facility protocols, and safety standards to maintain patient confidentiality and care quality.
  • Support Equipment Reliability
    Conduct routine checks and maintenance to ensure ultrasound machines are functioning properly and report any issues promptly.
  • Stay Informed and Skilled
    Participate in professional development and stay current with evolving sonography techniques and best practices.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related imaging field

Certification & Licensure:

  • ARDMS or ARRT (S) certification
  • State of Texas licensure as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, if applicable

Experience & Skills:

  • 1+ year of experience preferred in a hospital or clinical setting
  • Proficient in sonographic anatomy and image acquisition
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with EMR systems and ultrasound platforms
  • Adaptable and collaborative mindset in a fast-paced healthcare setting
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or on-call shifts when needed
