Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ASN or Diploma required)
- Current RN licensure or NCLEX eligibility
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Familiarity with electronic documentation and basic computer skills
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and time management skills
- Passion for surgical care and a desire to grow in an inpatient hospital setting
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct, patient-focused nursing care using the nursing process
- Monitor patients recovering from surgery, administer medications, and document progress
- Communicate effectively with physicians, surgical teams, and fellow nurses
- Support patients and families with education, comfort, and timely updates
- Participate in quality improvement, clinical initiatives, and shared governance
- Follow professional standards and maintain compliance with the Texas Nurse Practice Act
