Respiratory Therapist - Clinical
MLR is excited to collaborate with a respected healthcare system to fill a full-time Respiratory Therapist position in West Central, Texas. This night shift role includes working every other weekend on a rotating schedule, making it an excellent fit for individuals passionate about respiratory care and seeking a significant clinical role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Full-time, permanent, direct hire position.
- Assess, treat, and provide care for patients with various respiratory and breathing conditions.
- Lead in performing respiratory care treatments and procedures.
- Mentor and supervise respiratory therapy students and recent graduates.
- Conduct therapeutic procedures, maintain accurate patient records, and ensure the proper operation of respiratory care equipment.
- Assemble, inspect, and manage respiratory therapy equipment to ensure safety and functionality.
Respiratory Therapist - Clinical Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Registry-Level Respiratory Care Program.
- Certification: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification from the NBRC.
- License: Valid Respiratory Care license in the state of Texas.
- Maintain active status with the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) through the Continuing Competency Program (CCP).
- New graduates must obtain CRT credentials and achieve RRT credentials within 1 year of graduation. If RRT credentials are not obtained within this timeframe, the therapist will be reassigned to a Respiratory Care Practitioner role until the RRT is earned.
- Certifications:
- BLS certification required prior to patient interaction.
- ACLS certification must be completed within 6 months of hire.
- ENPC or PALS certification must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
- NRP certification must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
