Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Controller to join our finance team. As the Junior Controller you will work directly with our Chief of Staff and support the company's financial operations. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records by entering data into the accounting system and reconciling transactions. 
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, including preparing journal entries and reconciling balance sheet accounts. 
  • Support the preparation of financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. 
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes, including gathering data and preparing reports for management review. 
  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and customer invoicing. 
  • Perform various ad hoc financial analysis and reporting tasks as needed. 
  • Collaborate with other members of the finance team to streamline processes and improve efficiency. 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 
  • Proven experience as a Senior Accountant or a Junior Controller (8 – 10 years of relevant work experience in accounting)   
  • Experience with entering invoices into a data management system 
  • Experience with journal entries  
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. 
  • You must have extensive experience with accounting software: QuickBooks, Xero 
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills and ability to maintain confidentiality 
  • Experience with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processes 
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. 
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
