We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Nurse Manager to lead our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) team. As the Nurse Manager of our NICU, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations, managing the nursing staff, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to our newborn patients. You will have the opportunity to lead a talented team of nurses, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our NICU services.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide effective leadership and direction to the NICU nursing staff, promoting a positive work environment, and fostering professional growth and development.
  • Coordinate and oversee the delivery of nursing care within the NICU, ensuring adherence to established policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans, ensuring optimal outcomes.
  • Monitor patient outcomes, identify areas for improvement, and implement quality improvement initiatives within the NICU.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and maintain a safe and secure environment for patients, families, and staff.
  • Manage the department's budget, including staffing, equipment, and supplies, to ensure efficient operations.
  • Participate in recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes for nursing staff, fostering a diverse and inclusive workforce.
  • Provide support and education to families, promoting family-centered care and facilitating their involvement in the care of their newborns.

Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas (or eligibility to obtain licensure in Texas).
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree required; Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in a NICU setting, with progressive leadership responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of neonatal nursing practices, principles, and evidence-based care.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team of nurses.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
  • Proficient in utilizing healthcare technology and electronic medical records systems.
  • Current BLS and NRP certifications.
