General Supervisor of Laboratory Services

MLR is seeking an experienced and dedicated General Supervisor of Laboratory Services to lead our client’s laboratory team in Texas. This key leadership role involves overseeing laboratory operations, ensuring the highest standards of accuracy, efficiency, and patient care.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage daily laboratory operations, including staffing, workflow, and resource allocation to ensure optimal performance.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, quality control procedures, and safety protocols to maintain the highest level of laboratory practice.
  • Oversee the accurate and timely reporting of laboratory test results, ensuring they meet clinical and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead, mentor, and support laboratory staff, providing guidance on complex procedures and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with physicians, healthcare professionals, and administrative staff to ensure the laboratory meets the needs of patient care.
  • Participate in the recruitment, training, and evaluation of laboratory personnel, promoting professional development and adherence to best practices.
  • Monitor and manage laboratory budgets, equipment maintenance, and inventory to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Stay current with advancements in laboratory science and technology, implementing best practices and innovative solutions to enhance laboratory services.

Required Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) by ASCP, AMT, or another recognized accrediting body.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field from an accredited institution. A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Valid state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Medical Technologist in Texas.
  • Proven leadership and management experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
