Cath Lab Nurse

Job Description: We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Cath Lab Nurse to join our team. The Cath Lab Nurse will play a crucial role in providing quality care to patients undergoing cardiac procedures in our state-of-the-art catheterization laboratory. As a member of our interdisciplinary team, you will collaborate closely with physicians, technologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist physicians during cardiac catheterization procedures, including angioplasty, stent placement, and other interventions.
  • Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures, assessing vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and overall condition.
  • Administer medications and intravenous fluids as necessary, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Operate specialized equipment and technology within the cath lab, including fluoroscopy and imaging systems.
  • Provide patient education and emotional support, addressing any questions or concerns regarding procedures and recovery.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of procedures, medications, and patient progress in electronic medical records.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe working environment within the cath lab.

Qualifications:

  • Valid RN license in the state of Texas.
  • Minimum of one year of experience as a registered nurse, with previous experience in a cardiac cath lab preferred.
  • BLS and ACLS certification required.
  • Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to react calmly and effectively in high-pressure situations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to providing compassionate care to patients and their families.
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with advancements in cardiac care and technology.
