Director of Labor and Delivery Opportunity
MLee Healthcare is seeking a full-time, permanent, direct-hire, Director of Labor and Delivery is crucial in maintaining the highest standards of care in their Labor and Delivery Unit. We seek a skilled and visionary professional to lead this team and enhance our commitment to excellence in obstetric care.
Position Overview: The Director of Labor and Delivery will oversee all aspects of the Labor and Delivery Unit, including clinical operations, staff management, and quality improvement initiatives. This role requires a strategic leader with a deep understanding of obstetrics, proven leadership abilities, and a commitment to delivering outstanding care for mothers and newborns.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for the Labor and Delivery Unit, including labor, delivery, and postpartum care.
- Manage departmental budgets, staffing levels, and resource allocation to optimize efficiency and performance.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes, safety, and satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and hospital policies.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care.
As the Director of Labor and Delivery, you will collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless, coordinated care throughout the childbirth process and foster a supportive and collaborative work environment.
Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse (RN) with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) is required; a Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field is required.
- Board certification in Maternal-Newborn Nursing (RNC-MNN) or a similar credential is highly desirable.
- Minimum of three years of experience in labor and delivery, with at least three years in a leadership or management role.
- Must have experience working in a high-volume L&D department.
- Must have strong clinical expertise in obstetrics and labor and delivery practices.
- Must have proven leadership skills with experience managing teams and driving quality improvement initiatives.
