MLee Healthcare is searching for a dynamic and experienced Director of Labor and Delivery to join our team in a full-time, permanent, direct-hire position. This vital leadership role is essential in ensuring the highest standards of care in our Labor and Delivery Unit. We are looking for a talented, visionary leader who can drive excellence and innovation in obstetric care.

 

Position Overview: The Director of Labor and Delivery will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the Labor and Delivery Unit, including clinical care, staffing, and quality improvement. This role demands a strategic and skilled leader with in-depth knowledge of obstetrics, strong management experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional care to mothers and newborns.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and oversight for labor, delivery, and postpartum services.
  • Manage departmental budgets, staffing, and resources to maximize performance.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives to improve patient outcomes, safety, and satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement policies and protocols to maintain high-quality, patient-centered care.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including obstetricians, midwives, and nurses, to provide coordinated, comprehensive care throughout the childbirth process.

Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) with a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) is required; a Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Certification in Maternal-Newborn Nursing (RNC-MNN) or a similar credential is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in labor and delivery, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Experience working in high-volume labor and delivery units is essential.
  • Strong clinical expertise in obstetrics and labor and delivery practices.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with a track record of managing teams and leading quality improvement efforts.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
