Director of Labor and Delivery Opportunity 

 

MLee Healthcare is seeking a full-time, permanent, direct-hire, Director of Labor and Delivery is crucial in maintaining the highest standards of care in their Labor and Delivery Unit. We seek a skilled and visionary professional to lead this team and enhance our commitment to excellence in obstetric care.

 

Position Overview: The Director of Labor and Delivery will oversee all aspects of the Labor and Delivery Unit, including clinical operations, staff management, and quality improvement initiatives. This role requires a strategic leader with a deep understanding of obstetrics, proven leadership abilities, and a commitment to delivering outstanding care for mothers and newborns.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for the Labor and Delivery Unit, including labor, delivery, and postpartum care.
  • Manage departmental budgets, staffing levels, and resource allocation to optimize efficiency and performance.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes, safety, and satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and hospital policies.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care.
  • As the Director of Labor and Delivery, you will collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless, coordinated care throughout the childbirth process and foster a supportive and collaborative work environment.

     

Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) is required; a Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field is required.
  • Board certification in Maternal-Newborn Nursing (RNC-MNN) or a similar credential is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in labor and delivery, with at least three years in a leadership or management role.
  • Must have experience working in a high-volume L&D department. 
  • Must have strong clinical expertise in obstetrics and labor and delivery practices.
  • Must have proven leadership skills with experience managing teams and driving quality improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
