Position Summary – ICU RN Role
As an ICU Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in caring for critically ill patients with complex medical conditions. You'll work independently and collaboratively to manage life-sustaining treatments, assess rapidly changing health statuses, and provide comfort and clarity to both patients and families.
Essential Responsibilities – ICU Nurse
Deliver High-Acuity Care: Treat patients requiring intensive monitoring and intervention using industry-standard critical care protocols.
Continuously Evaluate Patient Needs: Conduct regular and emergency assessments, modifying care plans based on patient response.
Coordinate Interdisciplinary Care: Partner with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other medical professionals to ensure comprehensive treatment plans.
Administer Specialized Therapies: Manage IV medications, blood products, ventilator support, and other advanced interventions with accuracy and precision.
Guide and Support Families: Offer compassionate education and emotional support to families facing high-stress medical situations.
Maintain Clinical Standards: Follow hospital protocols and nursing practice guidelines with focus on ICU-specific competencies.
Key Skills & Technical Expertise
- Proficient in EHR systems and digital charting
- Skilled in operating ICU monitoring and resuscitation equipment
- Ability to interpret lab results, vital signs, and diagnostics accurately
- Strong commitment to patient safety, infection prevention, and quality metrics
Qualifications
Licensing & Certifications:
- Active RN license in the State of Texas (or eligible through compact licensing)
- BLS certification required
- ACLS, PALS, and TNCC preferred
Education & Experience:
- BSN preferred; ADN accepted with relevant experience
- 1 year or more of ICU or comparable critical care nursing experience preferred
- New graduates with strong clinical rotations encouraged to apply
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and patient advocacy skills
