Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and serving as a resource to other employees in the unit.
Description:
A speech-language pathologist diagnoses and treats conditions that affect your ability to communicate and swallow. SLPs work with people of all ages. In addition, responsibilities of speech-language pathologist include (but are not limited to):
- helping people learn how to form sounds
- teaching how to speak clearly and easily
- using exercises to strengthen muscles used to speak or swallow
- helping people increase the number of words they can say and/or understand
- working with people to improve the way they put words together in sentences
- providing augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems for people who have severe language disorders
- educating patients and their families about how to overcome challenges stemming from the communication or swallowing problem
Qualifications:
- Must be a graduate of an accredited Speech Language Pathology program
- Texas SLP license
- CCC-SLP certification
- Must perform job responsibilities in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
