Job Description: A Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) First Assist works closely with surgeons, nurses, and other members of the surgical team to ensure the smooth and safe progress of surgeries.

Job Title & Shift: Certified Surgical Technologist - First Assistant (CST-FA) - Days & Nights Available

Job Summary: The Certified Surgical Technologist - First Assist (CST-FA) is responsible for providing skilled assistance to surgeons during surgical procedures. The First Assistant CST works under the supervision of the surgeon and collaborates with other members of the surgical team to maintain a sterile and efficient surgical environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Preoperative Preparation:

• Assist in the preparation of the operating room, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available.
• Position and drape patients appropriately for the surgical procedure.

1. Intraoperative Assistance:

• Hand instruments and supplies to the surgeon during the procedure.
• Utilize medical equipment, such as retractors and suction devices, to optimize the surgeon's field of vision.

1. Communication and Collaboration:

• Communicate effectively with other members of the surgical team to ensure smooth coordination.
• Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and provide support accordingly.

1. Adherence to Policies and Regulations:

• Adhere to all hospital policies, protocols, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain knowledge of current trends and developments in surgical technology.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Current certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST)
• 6 months to 1 year of continuous experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
• Additional certification as a First Assistant (CST-FA) is typically required.
• Completion of an accredited surgical technology program.
• Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, instruments, and sterile techniques.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Current CPR certification
