Position Summary/Purpose:  

The Interventional Technologist assists physicians in performing minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, ensuring optimal patient care and procedural efficiency. They operate specialized imaging equipment, prepare and maintain sterile environments, and provide critical technical support during interventional radiology procedures. You'll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide the very best imaging services, which include ultrasound, CT scan, PET scan, interventional radiology, digital mammography, and nuclear medicine.

 

Qualifications: 

  • Required Education:
    • Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technologist Program
  • Required Certification / Licensure: 
    • Current Basic Life Support certification
    • Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification
    • Texas Medical Board State license
  • Work Experience: 
    • 1 year of experience is preferred.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Assist with procedures and provide diagnostic aid by conducting organ or body scans on patients.
  • Prepare and position patients and select anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Observe patient during procedure and report abnormal activity. Monitor protocols and recommend updates or refinements as warranted.
  • Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Able to perform all specialized imaging procedures such as angio, complex vascular and nonvascular interventional and therapeutic procedures, along with assisting the Radiologist/PA.
  • Ensure all activities comply with regulatory agency standards.
