Position Summary/Purpose:  

The Interventional Technologist plays a key role in assisting physicians with minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, ensuring high-quality patient care and procedural efficiency. They operate specialized imaging equipment, maintain sterile environments, and offer essential technical support during interventional radiology procedures. In this role, you'll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver top-notch imaging services, including ultrasound, CT scans, PET scans, interventional radiology, digital mammography, and nuclear medicine.

 

Qualifications: 

  • Required Education:
    • Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technologist Program
  • Required Certification / Licensure: 
    • Current Basic Life Support certification
    • Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification
    • Texas Medical Board State license
  • Work Experience: 
    • 1 year of experience is preferred.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Assist with procedures and provide diagnostic aid by conducting organ or body scans on patients.
  • Prepare and position patients and select anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Observe the patient during the procedure and report abnormal activity. Monitor protocols and recommend updates or refinements as warranted.
  • Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Able to perform all specialized imaging procedures such as angio, complex vascular and nonvascular interventional and therapeutic procedures, along with assisting the Radiologist/PA.
  • Ensure all activities comply with regulatory agency standards.
