Respiratory Therapist
MLR Healthcare (Recruiting) is looking for a full-time, permanent Respiratory Therapist to join a dedicated team at a prestigious acute-care hospital in Texas. In this role, you will provide expert respiratory therapy services, following established protocols to deliver therapeutic interventions and support for patients' respiratory health and overall well-being.
Salary: $55,875 - $94,598 per year
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Healthcare Team: Work closely with physicians and medical staff to assess patients' respiratory conditions and create individualized treatment plans.
- Conduct Diagnostic Tests: Perform diagnostic assessments to evaluate and address patients' respiratory needs.
- Work Schedule: Night shifts, including rotating weekends, consisting of three 12-hour shifts per week.
- Environmental Assessment: Evaluate patients' home or work environments, offering recommendations to enhance their respiratory health and independence.
- Data Management: Accurately record and manage patient information in electronic medical records.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure a safe work environment by adhering to OSHA and NIOSH guidelines.
Requirements:
- Licensure: Must hold a Texas State License in Respiratory Care.
- Certification Maintenance: Maintain active status with the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) according to the Continuing Competency Program (CCP).
- Credentialing: Graduate therapists must obtain CRT credentials and pursue RRT certification within one year. If the RRT credential is not obtained, the therapist will transition to a Respiratory Care Practitioner role until certification is achieved.
- BLS Certification: Required prior to patient care.
- ACLS Certification: Must be completed within six months of hire.
- ENPC or PALS Certification: Required within one year of employment.
- NRP Certification: Must be obtained within the first year.
