Acute Respiratory Therapist
MLR Healthcare (Recruiting) is seeking a full-time, permanent, direct-hire Respiratory Therapist to join an expert team at a well-established acute-care hospital in Texas. In this role, you will provide respiratory care services, following established guidelines to deliver therapeutic interventions and support for patients’ respiratory health and recovery.
Salary: $55,489 - $94,572 per year
Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Physicians: Partner with doctors to evaluate patient conditions and create personalized treatment plans.
- Perform Diagnostic Assessments: Conduct diagnostic tests as necessary to assess respiratory function and guide treatment.
- Work Schedule: Night shifts, rotating weekends, working three 12-hour shifts per week.
- Environment Assessment: Evaluate patients’ home or work settings and recommend modifications to enhance their independence and improve respiratory outcomes.
- Data Management: Enter patient information and treatment data accurately into healthcare systems.
- Workplace Safety: Ensure the work area is maintained in compliance with OSHA and NIOSH standards.
Qualifications:
- Licensure: Must hold a current Respiratory Care license in the state of Texas.
- Certification Renewal: Maintain active status with the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) by following the Continuing Competency Program (CCP).
- Graduate Therapist Requirements: Must obtain CRT credentials and successfully test for RRT certification within one year of graduation, maintaining active NBRC status. If the RRT credential is not acquired within the required time frame, the individual will be reassigned to a Respiratory Care Practitioner role until the credential is obtained.
- Basic Life Support (BLS): Certification must be completed prior to patient contact.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS): Certification required within six months of hire.
- Pediatric Emergency (ENPC/PALS): Certification required within one year of hire.
- Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP): Certification must be obtained within one year.
