Role Responsibilities
- Conduct evaluations on pediatric, adult, and elderly patients utilizing both standardized assessments and observational insights.
- Create tailored treatment plans that encompass both immediate objectives and enduring communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
- Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions focusing on communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing aspects.
- Work collaboratively with physical and occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, family members, and caregivers to devise comprehensive care approaches.
- Educate patients and families, empowering them to encourage progress outside clinical encounters.
- Participate in occasional inpatient speech therapy evaluations and techniques, ensuring the continuity of care according to the treatment pathway.
- Keep precise and timely records in accordance with regulatory and organizational policies.
- Engage in ongoing learning to stay abreast of field advancements through educational opportunities and peer networking.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not in possession of ASHA certification.
Certification Requirements
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) by ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandated within 30 days post-employment.
