MLR (MLee Recruiting) is looking for a dedicated Nursing Specialist to join a respected acute-care hospital located near Abilene, Texas, in a full-time, permanent position!

 

Compensation: $65,426 - $90,821 per year

 

 

Nursing Specialist Duties

  • Patient Evaluations: Perform comprehensive assessments, addressing health concerns to identify specific care requirements.
  • Health Documentation: Maintain detailed records of medical histories, current symptoms, and patient health status.
  • Patient Comfort & Preparation: Ensure patients are comfortable and well-informed before exams or treatments.
  • Medication and Treatment Administration: Safely administer prescribed medications and treatments, keeping an eye out for side effects or adverse reactions.
  • Collaborative Care Planning: Partner with the healthcare team to create and revise individualized care plans.
  • Wound Treatment: Provide care for wounds, including cleaning and dressing as necessary.
  • Procedure Support: Assist medical staff during various procedures, ensuring efficiency and patient safety.
  • Equipment Operation & Maintenance: Handle and monitor medical equipment, ensuring it is safe and functional.
  • Specimen Collection: Gather blood, urine, and other samples for laboratory testing.
  • Patient and Family Education: Guide patients and families on treatment plans, answering questions and addressing any concerns.
  • Supervision of Nursing Staff: Manage and mentor LPNs, nursing aides, and students to maintain high-quality patient care.

Work Hours

  • Night shifts, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

  • RN License: Must have an active Registered Nurse license.
  • CPR-BCLS Certification: Required prior to beginning patient care.
  • Specialty Certifications (to be acquired within designated timelines):
    • Critical Care: ACLS within six months; NRP within six months.
    • Labor & Delivery: ACLS within six months; NRP within six months.
    • NICU: NRP within six months.
    • Pediatrics: PALS or ENPC within eighteen months.
