MLR (MLee Recruiting) is looking for a dedicated Nursing Specialist to join a respected acute-care hospital located near Abilene, Texas, in a full-time, permanent position!
Compensation: $65,426 - $90,821 per year
Nursing Specialist Responsibilities
- Conduct patient assessments, discussing health issues to determine individual care needs.
- Record detailed medical histories and document current symptoms and health status.
- Ensure patients are comfortable and well-informed before tests or treatments.
- Manage medications and treatments, monitoring for possible side effects or adverse reactions.
- Work with the healthcare team to develop and update care plans.
- Provide wound care by cleaning and dressing wounds as needed.
- Assist medical professionals during various procedures.
- Operate and maintain medical equipment, ensuring functionality and safety.
- Collect specimens, like blood and urine, for lab analysis.
- Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, answering questions and addressing concerns.
- Oversee and mentor nursing staff, including LPNs, nursing assistants, and students, to maintain high-quality care.
Work Schedule
- Night shifts, Monday through Friday.
Qualifications
- Must hold a valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- CPR-BCLS Certification is required.
- Specialty Certifications (to be obtained within specified timeframes):
- Critical Care: ACLS within six months; NRP within six months.
- Labor & Delivery: ACLS within six months; NRP within six months.
- NICU: NRP within six months.
- Pediatrics: PALS or ENPC within eighteen months.
