What You’ll Do
- Conduct a Range of Ultrasound Exams
Perform abdominal, pelvic, obstetric, musculoskeletal, and vascular ultrasounds, ensuring clarity and precision in every image. - Operate Equipment Accurately
Adjust and manage ultrasound equipment settings for optimal imaging, tailoring procedures to each patient’s unique anatomy and needs. - Prioritize Patient Comfort and Safety
Position patients with care, explain procedures thoroughly, and maintain a calm, professional presence throughout their exam. - Collaborate with Medical Teams
Work closely with radiologists, physicians, and clinical staff to interpret findings and support prompt, effective medical decisions. - Document Findings Clearly
Input exam results, observations, and patient data accurately into the EMR system, maintaining full confidentiality and compliance. - Adhere to Clinical Protocols
Follow all regulatory, safety, and privacy guidelines, including HIPAA and AIUM standards, ensuring a secure and ethical environment. - Maintain Equipment Functionality
Perform regular checks, clean and calibrate ultrasound machines, and report any technical issues promptly to maintain uptime and safety. - Pursue Professional Growth
Stay informed on the latest in sonographic techniques and technology through continued education and training opportunities.
Qualifications
Education:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related field.
Certification & Licensure:
- Current certification with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or ARRT(S).
- South Carolina licensure as required.
Experience & Skills:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical or hospital setting preferred.
- Proficiency in sonographic equipment and imaging software.
- Excellent knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic protocols.
- Compassionate and clear communicator, especially in patient-facing situations.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Flexibility for varied shifts, including possible weekend or on-call rotations.
