Summary:

We are currently seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician to work full-time at an acute-care facility in Columbia, SC.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct routine laboratory testing, ensuring accurate patient identification and specimen acceptability.
• Utilize electronic laboratory systems for specimen receipt, order assessment, and result documentation.
• Perform quality control on reagents, following manufacturers' guidelines.
• Manage inventory, including timely reordering of supplies at designated par levels.
• Adhere to established policies for critical result notifications and documentation, ensuring compliance with South Carolina regulatory standards.
  

Qualifications:

• Active certification through ASCP or AMT required - eligible for cert within 6 months will be considered for an ideal candidate.
• 2 years of Medical Laboratory Technologist / Technician experience required
• Need to have a basic grasp of scientific laboratory procedures, including using laboratory equipment and generating reports from laboratory tests
