We are seeking a dedicated Director of Laboratory to lead our client's laboratory team in South Carolina. As Director, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining quality management systems, fostering a culture of service excellence, and overseeing all aspects of laboratory operations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a professional image and uphold excellent customer relations with patients, visitors, physicians, and colleagues.
  • Demonstrate leadership in quality management systems, promoting the process approach and risk-based thinking.
  • Ensure all tests and procedures comply with hospital, state, federal, and agency standards, ensuring accuracy and validity of results.
  • Establish and oversee an effective preventive maintenance program for laboratory instruments and equipment.
  • Collaborate with supervisory staff, Pathologists, and Hospital Administration to develop long- and short-range goals and objectives for the laboratory.
  • Select, train, supervise, discipline, evaluate, and schedule laboratory staff.
  • Assist in preparing departmental laboratories for inspections and accreditation.
  • Participate in budget preparation, monitor laboratory revenue plan, expenditures, and revenues, and oversee equipment and supply purchases.
  • Implement quality control programs and participate in hospital-wide quality improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee laboratory safety initiatives and resolve operational problems through consultation with healthcare professionals.
  • Stay updated with current trends and developments in the field through continuing education and contribute new knowledge to improve laboratory operations.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in health science from an accredited school.
  • Certification by a recognized national certifying agency.
  • Qualified to perform moderate and highly complexity testing as defined by CLIA 88.
