Medical Laboratory Technician / Medical Technologist
We are seeking a skilled Medical Laboratory Technician or Medical Technologist (MLT/MT) to perform diagnostic testing as per physician orders under the supervision of the Clinical Director. The role requires expertise in laboratory procedures, equipment maintenance, quality assessments, and efficient workload management. This position may also involve mentoring lab staff and students, subject to the laboratory director's approval.
Key Responsibilities:
- Shift: Full Time, 3rd Shift
- Skillfully perform venipuncture for all patient age groups, ensuring high specimen quality.
- Conduct accurate testing in assigned departments and troubleshoot issues as necessary.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOP) for quality control, document corrective actions, and make informed decisions regarding patient results.
- Participate in competency testing, professional development, and in-service education.
- Maintain required certifications and actively participate in meetings and educational activities.
- Utilize the Laboratory Information System (LIS) and other computer applications effectively.
Requirements:
- Registered MLT/MT with valid credentials (ASCP, NCAMLP, AMT, ASMT, or equivalent) or eligibility within six months.
- Proficiency in operating laboratory instruments and interpreting results.
- Strong communication skills with patients, medical staff, and customers.
- Ability to cater to patients of all ages and understand their specific needs.
- Knowledge of laboratory policies and procedures.
