Cytotechnologist - ASCP

Cytotechnologist – CT

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cytotechnologist to join our team at our start-of-the-art hospital. In this role, you will be responsible for examining and analyzing cells and tissues to identify abnormalities or diseases. You will work with a team of pathologists and laboratory professionals to provide accurate and timely diagnoses to healthcare providers.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and analyze specimens, including fine needle aspirations, gynecologic, and non-gynecologic samples
• Perform high-quality cytological examinations of cells and tissues to identify abnormalities or disease
• Identify and document abnormal cells, and refer cases to a pathologist for further review as needed
• Maintain accurate and complete records of all cytology results
• Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure accurate and reliable results
• Maintain laboratory equipment and supplies, and troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as needed
• Adhere to laboratory safety and infection control protocols

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Cytotechnology or a related field
• Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent
• Strong knowledge of cytological techniques and procedures, including fine needle aspiration and gynecologic and non-gynecologic sample analysis
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and priorities
