Medical Technologist (Generalist) - Clinical Lab Scientist

We have a new position opening outside of Vandergrift, PA. Expect 15K sign on bonus not included in regular salary!

Summary:

The ideal candidate for this role will perform and monitor a full range of laboratory testing and analysis. Assumes responsibility for problem resolution, quality control, and required equipment maintenance with minimal supervision.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or related field and one-year clinical education in a clinical laboratory science program accredited by NAACLS.
• Active certification through ASCP or AMT required - eligible for cert within 6 months will be considered for an ideal candidate.
• 6 Months of Medical Laboratory Technologist / Technician experience preferred.
• Comfortable working 1st and 2nd shift (5, 8's) - will always have team members present. Weekends rotating.
• Must be driven as a team member. Culture fit is huge factor, as hospital is smaller but busy and has a family/team feel between employees to ensure cohesion.

Responsibilities:

• The Medical Laboratory Technologist will test blood and bodily fluids by using complex laboratory equipment.
• Examine specimens for bacteria, viruses or parasites.
• Measure levels of drugs or other chemicals in the blood.
• Look at the chemical content of the blood to determine deficiencies in nutrients or excesses of cholesterol or blood sugars.
• Make use of cell counters, cultures, microscopes and other various types of equipment
