Position Overview: MLee Healthcare is seeking a talented and empathetic Radiologic Technologist to join a growing team in Southwest Pennsylvania. The Interventional Radiology Technologist collaborates closely with radiologists to perform vascular imaging and procedures. Responsibilities include assisting in surgical aspects, organizing non-sterile tasks, and operating radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment for imaging. They maintain proficiency in radiography and other specialties for coverage, assess patients, educate on procedures, and prepare them physically and emotionally. They document patient care, assist during procedures, manage inventory for specialized supplies, and produce high-quality medical images following department protocols. They ensure accurate image identification, differentiate artifacts from pathology, and adjust imaging as needed for optimal results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ability to perform all phases of Interventional Radiologic procedures including assisting as an IR scrub tech
- Operate specialized radiographic equipment to perform interventional procedures, including angiography, fluoroscopy, and vascular imaging.
- Assist Radiologists and other physicians in performing minimally invasive procedures, such as biopsies, angioplasties, and catheter placements.
- Prepare patients for procedures, ensuring their comfort, safety, and understanding of the procedure details.
- Monitor patient condition during procedures, responding promptly to any changes and assisting with patient care as needed.
- Maintain sterile technique and infection control practices during interventional procedures.
- Document procedure details, patient responses, and any adverse reactions accurately and timely.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care and ensure procedural efficiency.
- Participate in quality assurance activities and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and procedural outcomes.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding interventional procedures and post-procedure care.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years experience
- Graduate from an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification in Radiography required; additional certification in Vascular-Interventional Radiography (VI) is a plus.
- State licensure or certification as required for radiologic technologists.
- Vascular Radiology Technician- looking for similar work *Experience as a Cath Lab Tech or IR Tech
- Vascular experience required
- EPIC experience is not needed but is preferred.
- BLS required
