Job Summary:
MLR is searching for a talented and detail-focused Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to join our committed team at [Facility Name]. In this role, the MT/MLT will conduct a range of laboratory tests and procedures to aid in patient diagnosis and treatment. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests, including hematology, chemistry, microbiology, and immunology.
- Prepare and analyze samples, such as blood, urine, and other bodily fluids.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper calibration and troubleshooting as needed.
- Follow established protocols and procedures for testing, quality control, and safety.
- Accurately record and interpret test results, documenting findings in patient records.
- Communicate results to physicians and healthcare providers, providing additional information or clarification as necessary.
- Adhere to infection control practices and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- Participate in laboratory quality assurance and performance improvement activities.
- Stay current with advancements in laboratory technology and techniques.
Qualifications:
- Medical Technologist (MT): Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related field; certification by a nationally recognized organization such as ASCP, AMT, or equivalent.
- Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT): Associate’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or related field; certification by a nationally recognized organization such as ASCP, AMT, or equivalent.
- Demonstrated proficiency in laboratory techniques and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of regulatory and safety standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a clinical laboratory setting, especially in a physician’s office or outpatient clinic.
- Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time / Part-time hours may include occasional evenings or weekends.
- May require standing for extended periods and occasional lifting of moderate weights.
- Adherence to safety protocols and use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory.
