Histology Technician - ASCP

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare tissue samples for microscopic examination, including embedding, sectioning, staining, and mounting.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, such as microscopes, tissue processors, and cryostats.
  • Perform routine quality control and troubleshooting procedures to ensure accuracy and precision of results.
  • Maintain accurate records of all laboratory activities, including sample processing, equipment maintenance, and test results.
  • Follow laboratory safety protocols and ensure that all laboratory staff are trained in safety procedures.
  • Communicate with pathologists and other laboratory staff to ensure that all samples are processed and analyzed in a timely and accurate manner.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree from a community college.
  • Minimum of one (1) years of experience working in a histology laboratory.
  • ASCP HT or HLT certification.
