As a Registered Respiratory Therapist, you will play a vital role in delivering respiratory care to patients with breathing and cardiopulmonary disorders. You’ll collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement personalized care plans, perform essential diagnostic tests, and administer therapeutic treatments. Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and treat patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary disorders.
- Perform diagnostic tests such as spirometry, arterial blood gases, and pulmonary function tests.
- Administer respiratory treatments, including oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and chest physiotherapy.
- Monitor patient responses to therapy and make adjustments as necessary.
- Educate patients and their families on respiratory conditions and treatment plans.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Maintain accurate patient records and document all treatments and interventions.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and infection control protocols.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program.
- Valid state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist.
- A Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential is preferred.
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of respiratory care techniques and equipment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- CPR and BLS certification is required; ACLS certification is preferred.
