Vascular Sonographer Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Vascular Sonographer to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will use advanced ultrasound equipment to perform non-invasive diagnostic imaging of the vascular system, assisting in the diagnosis and treatment planning for various vascular conditions. Your expertise will contribute to the overall well-being of our patients by providing accurate and timely results to the medical team.
Vascular Sonographer Key Responsibilities:
- Perform high-quality ultrasound exams of the vascular system, including arteries and veins.
- Assess and document vascular conditions, including aneurysms, deep vein thrombosis (DVT), and peripheral artery disease (PAD).
- Prepare patients for exams by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort throughout the process.
- Review patient history and previous imaging results to provide comprehensive diagnostic support.
- Analyze images, identify vascular abnormalities, and collaborate with physicians to assist in diagnosis and treatment plans.
- Maintain detailed and accurate patient records, ensuring proper documentation of imaging results.
- Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring it is functioning properly and calibrated.
- Follow strict protocols to ensure patient safety and comfort during exams.
Vascular Sonographer Qualifications:
- Certification as a Vascular Sonographer (RVT or RVT/ARDMS) required.
- High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited Sonography program preferred.
- Previous experience in vascular sonography is preferred.
- Knowledge of vascular anatomy, pathology, and non-invasive diagnostic techniques.
- Strong ability to analyze and interpret diagnostic images.
- Excellent communication and patient interaction skills.
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment and under pressure.
