Overview: MLee Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our dynamic healthcare team. As a COTA, you will work under the supervision of licensed occupational therapists to assist patients in developing, recovering, and maintaining the skills needed for daily living and working. Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with occupational therapists to develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and goals.
  • Assist patients in performing therapeutic activities and exercises designed to improve strength, coordination, range of motion, and functional skills.
  • Educate patients and their families on techniques and strategies for carrying out therapeutic activities at home and in other environments.
  • Monitor and record patient progress, adapting treatment plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Document patient evaluations, treatment plans, and progress reports in compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies.
  • Maintain communication with other healthcare professionals, caregivers, and family members to ensure coordinated and effective care.
  • Provide emotional support and encouragement to patients throughout their rehabilitation journey.

Requirements:

  • Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
  • Valid certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) issued by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
  • State licensure or eligibility to obtain state licensure as a COTA.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
