Overview: MLee Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our dynamic healthcare team. As a COTA, you will work under the supervision of licensed occupational therapists to assist patients in developing, recovering, and maintaining the skills needed for daily living and working. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals across various age groups and settings.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with occupational therapists to develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and goals.
  • Assist patients in performing therapeutic activities and exercises designed to improve strength, coordination, range of motion, and functional skills.
  • Educate patients and their families on techniques and strategies for carrying out therapeutic activities at home and in other environments.
  • Monitor and record patient progress, adapting treatment plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Document patient evaluations, treatment plans, and progress reports in compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies.
  • Maintain communication with other healthcare professionals, caregivers, and family members to ensure coordinated and effective care.
  • Provide emotional support and encouragement to patients throughout their rehabilitation journey.

Requirements:

  • Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
  • Valid certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) issued by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
  • State licensure or eligibility to obtain state licensure as a COTA.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
