Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Job Description:
Join our dedicated healthcare team as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) and provide high-quality respiratory care to patients in a variety of settings. You will be responsible for performing diagnostic tests, managing respiratory equipment, providing therapeutic treatments, and assisting in the care of patients with respiratory conditions, all under the supervision of a physician.
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Required Qualifications:
- Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification.
- State licensure as a Respiratory Therapist.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (preferred).
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (preferred).
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Educational Requirements:
- Minimum Degree: Associate’s degree.
- Degree Type: Associate of Science in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent.
- Field of Study: Respiratory Therapy or a related field.
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care: Provide comprehensive respiratory therapy services, including assessments, treatments, and education for patients with respiratory conditions.
- Therapeutic Services: Administer respiratory treatments such as nebulizer therapy, mechanical ventilation, and oxygen therapy to patients of all ages.
- Diagnostic Testing: Perform diagnostic tests such as pulmonary function tests, arterial blood gas sampling, and other assessments to help diagnose respiratory conditions.
- Documentation: Ensure accurate, timely, and thorough documentation in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to deliver coordinated patient care.
- Ongoing Education: Stay informed about the latest advances in respiratory care through continuing education and professional development.
