Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Job Description:

Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Required Qualifications:

• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification.
• State licensure as a Respiratory Therapist.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (preferred).
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (preferred).

Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Educational Requirements:

• Minimum Degree: Associate’s degree.
• Degree Type: Associate of Science in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent.
• Field of Study: Respiratory Therapy or a related field.

Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Key Responsibilities:

• Patient Care: Provide comprehensive respiratory therapy services, including assessments, treatments, and education for patients with respiratory conditions.
• Therapeutic Services: Administer respiratory treatments such as nebulizer therapy, mechanical ventilation, and oxygen therapy to patients of all ages.
• Diagnostic Testing: Perform diagnostic tests such as pulmonary function tests, arterial blood gas sampling, and other assessments to help diagnose respiratory conditions.
• Documentation: Ensure accurate, timely, and thorough documentation in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to deliver coordinated patient care.
• Ongoing Education: Stay informed about the latest advances in respiratory care through continuing education and professional development.
