Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Shift: Monday to Friday, First Shift
Sign-on Bonus: $5,000
Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing routine and emergent Nuclear Medicine procedures using advanced imaging equipment, radiopharmaceutical agents, and radiation safety protocols.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and emergent Nuclear Medicine procedures, operating imaging equipment and related accessories in accordance with radiation safety standards and departmental protocols.
- Safely receive, handle, store, prepare, and administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients according to established procedures.
- Prepare the patient and imaging room for procedures, ensuring patient comfort and providing a friendly, secure atmosphere. Assist patients with appropriate dress and educate patients and families on imaging procedures.
- Communicate effectively with other healthcare providers to ensure continuity and appropriateness of patient care.
- Maintain both manual and computerized patient, department, and hospital records, performing data entry and clerical tasks as needed. Responsible for ordering and stocking departmental supplies.
- Perform routine equipment quality control checks in accordance with departmental protocols. Conduct routine cleaning and preventative maintenance of equipment, and report any malfunctions to the appropriate person or department.
- Treat all patients and families with dignity and respect, maintaining confidentiality of patient records. Interact professionally with patients and families, providing clear explanations and verbal reassurance as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the smooth operation of the department.
Qualifications:
- Education: Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Nuclear Medicine or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) registration required. Ohio Department of Health Radiologic License is required.
- Certification: BLS certification required within 30 days of employment.
- Experience: Previous experience in Nuclear Medicine is preferred but not required.
