Radiologic Technologist
Position Overview:
As a Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic imaging procedures, including X-rays, to assist in the diagnosis of various medical conditions. You will work closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure that images are clear and accurate, ultimately contributing to better patient care. This role requires attention to detail, technical proficiency, and a strong focus on patient safety and comfort.
Key Responsibilities:
- Imaging Procedures: Perform diagnostic X-ray exams, including routine procedures such as chest, abdominal, and extremity X-rays, ensuring high-quality images are captured for accurate diagnosis.
- Patient Care: Ensure patient safety and comfort by explaining procedures, addressing concerns, and providing assistance during imaging exams.
- Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain radiologic equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality to produce optimal imaging results.
- Radiation Safety: Follow all radiation safety protocols, including shielding techniques, to minimize exposure to patients, staff, and visitors.
- Collaboration: Work closely with radiologists and physicians to ensure proper positioning, clarity, and diagnostic quality of images.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate patient records, including imaging results and patient information, in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
- Quality Assurance: Participate in routine equipment checks, quality control, and continuous improvement efforts to maintain high standards of imaging and patient care.
Required Qualifications:
- Current Radiologic Technologist Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- State of Ohio Radiologic Technologist License (or eligibility to obtain).
- Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology or related field.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
- Proficiency in performing routine diagnostic X-ray procedures and operating related imaging equipment.
- Strong knowledge of radiation safety and infection control protocols.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain procedures and calm patients during exams.
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Additional certifications, such as Mammography, CT, or MRI, are a plus but not required
- 1+ years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist, preferably in a hospital or clinical setting.
- Familiarity with imaging software and Electronic Medical Records (EMRs).
