Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct care to cancer patients, including assessment, monitoring, and administration of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other treatments.
  • Assist in creating and managing individualized care plans in collaboration with oncologists, social workers, and other healthcare team members.
  • Educate patients and their families on cancer treatments, potential side effects, and recovery strategies.
  • Monitor patients for any adverse reactions or complications from cancer treatments, ensuring timely intervention as needed.
  • Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and families, addressing concerns and providing information to enhance their care experience.
  • Administer medications, including chemotherapy agents, pain management, and supportive therapies.
  • Document patient information, treatments, and responses in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including oncologists, pharmacists, and social workers, to coordinate comprehensive cancer care.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control, safety standards, and regulatory guidelines for oncology treatments.
  • Stay current on advancements in oncology care, treatments, and nursing practices.

Qualifications:

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio.
  • At least 1-2 years of nursing experience, preferably in an oncology or chemotherapy setting.
  • ONS (Oncology Nursing Society) certification preferred, or willingness to obtain within a specified time frame.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) preferred.
  • Knowledge of chemotherapy administration, side effects, and oncology nursing practices.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
