Athletic Trainer

Athletic Trainer Position Overview:
As an essential part of the sports medicine team, the Athletic Trainer (AT) will provide on-site coverage at schools and community events. Under the direction of a physician, the AT will perform a range of services, including injury prevention, clinical evaluation, diagnosis, emergency care, treatment, rehabilitation, and reconditioning.
Athletic Trainer Educational Requirements:
- Degree: Bachelor’s degree
- Field of Study: Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training, Sports Medicine, or a related field
Athletic Trainer Licensure & Certifications:
- Valid Athletic Training license in the State of Ohio
- Current Healthcare Provider CPR certification
- National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) Board of Certification
Athletic Trainer Key Responsibilities:
- On-Site Coverage: Provide athletic training support at assigned schools and community events.
- Patient Care: Deliver comprehensive services such as injury prevention, diagnosis, immediate care, rehabilitation, and reconditioning.
- Documentation: Complete all necessary paperwork and reports in accordance with Premier Health standards.
- Professional Growth: Continuously develop skills and knowledge through ongoing education and staying informed on industry trends.
- Public Education: Participate in public speaking opportunities to educate and raise awareness about sports medicine.
- Cost Management: Assist with cost-effective practices within the sports medicine department.
- Customer Service: Ensure excellent service for athletes, coaches, and other stakeholders.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the sports medicine team to enhance patient care.
