MLee has been engaged by a local facility to find an experienced leader to be the director of an Emergency Department at a community hospital

Job Description:

The Director of the Emergency Department is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the ER department, including staffing, patient flow, and budget management. The Director will also develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the highest quality of care for patients and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for the ER department
  • Oversee staffing and patient flow to ensure efficient and effective care
  • Manage the ER budget and financial performance
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and accreditation requirements
  • Act as a liaison between the ER department and other hospital departments, as well as external partners such as insurance companies and emergency medical services
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to ER staff
  • Continuously assess and improve the quality of care provided in the ER

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing
  • Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Ohio
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an ER setting, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
  • Strong understanding of ER operations, including patient flow and staffing
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure compliance with regulations and accreditation standards.

  • BLS
