Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN)
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic cardiovascular team in Ohio. In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures in our state-of-the-art cath lab. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care during cardiac catheterization procedures, including coronary angiograms, angioplasties, stent placements, and other interventional procedures.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and cardiac status throughout the procedure, responding quickly to any changes or emergencies.
- Assist the cardiologists and interventional specialists with the preparation and performance of procedures.
- Ensure patient safety, comfort, and support, providing pre-procedure education and post-procedure care instructions.
- Administer medications, including sedation and analgesia, as ordered, and monitor for adverse reactions.
- Maintain sterile technique during all procedures and ensure proper handling of equipment and supplies.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including cardiologists, radiologists, and other nursing staff, to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Document all patient information and procedural details accurately in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Provide emotional support to patients and their families, addressing concerns and answering questions about the procedure.
- Adhere to all regulatory and safety standards, including infection control and radiation safety protocols.
Qualifications:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an interventional cardiac catheterization lab or critical care setting.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required.
- Cardiac Cath Lab or related cardiovascular certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, interventional procedures, and hemodynamic monitoring.
- Excellent critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
