Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) to join our healthcare team in Ohio. In this role, you will perform a variety of laboratory tests and procedures that are essential for diagnosing and monitoring diseases. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely test results, contributing to high-quality patient care. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and complex laboratory tests on patient samples, including blood, urine, and tissue specimens.
- Analyze test results, ensuring accuracy and quality control standards are met.
- Interpret laboratory findings and report results to physicians and other healthcare providers.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.
- Adhere to laboratory safety protocols and regulatory guidelines, including infection control standards.
- Document test results and maintain accurate patient records in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Prepare specimens for analysis and ensure proper storage and handling of biological samples.
- Assist with troubleshooting and resolving technical issues with laboratory instruments or testing procedures.
- Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement activities within the lab.
- Stay current with advancements in laboratory technology and practices through ongoing education and training.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field.
- Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Technologist (MT) through ASCP or equivalent preferred.
- At least 1 year of experience working in a laboratory setting preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, equipment, and safety protocols.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
