Registered Nurse (RN) - Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
Position Overview:
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the ICU is responsible for providing comprehensive, high-level nursing care to critically ill or unstable patients. This role requires a skilled and compassionate nurse who can work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The ICU RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, collaborating with other healthcare professionals to provide exceptional critical care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care: Provide direct nursing care to critically ill patients, monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and responding to life-threatening situations.
- Assessment & Monitoring: Conduct thorough patient assessments and continuously monitor patient condition, adjusting care as necessary.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to plan and implement individualized care plans.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
- Family Support: Provide compassionate support to patients' families, offering updates and assisting in making informed decisions regarding care.
- Emergency Response: Respond quickly to life-threatening emergencies, demonstrating advanced clinical skills in critical care situations.
- Education: Educate patients and families on post-care procedures and assist in the transition to recovery.
Qualifications:
- Current Ohio RN License
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- 1+ years of ICU experience (preferred), or relevant experience in acute care or critical care settings.
- BLS & ACLS Certification required (additional certifications in critical care nursing are a plus).
- Strong critical thinking, assessment, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage high-stress situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate approach to patient care.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
