This Full-Time Patient Care Technician (PCT) position offers the chance to work across multiple areas within Surgical Services—supporting operating room functions, sterile processing, phlebotomy, and patient care. Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma or GED (Required) 
  • 1–3 years of experience as a Medical Assistant, STNA, or Phlebotomist (Preferred) 
  • BCLS certification (Required – may be obtained during orientation) 

 

What You Will Do: 

  • Perform a variety of clinical support tasks including obtaining vital signs, blood glucose monitoring, and bladder scans under RN supervision 
  • Assist with patient preparation, transport, and room turnover in surgical and ambulatory settings 
  • Collect, label, and transport lab specimens following hospital protocol 
  • Conduct EKGs, assist with phlebotomy, and enter lab orders in CPSI 
  • Perform sterile processing duties and maintain stock of department supplies 
  • Handle clerical responsibilities such as answering phones and entering orders 
  • Support the patient’s family involvement in care when appropriate 
  • Demonstrate flexibility by floating across clinical areas as needed based on staffing and census
