We are currently seeking dedicated Med Surg RNs to join our client's esteemed healthcare team in New York.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical and mental health, including vital signs, pain levels, and overall condition. Monitor patients closely for any changes in their health status and promptly report any concerns to the healthcare team.
  • Administer prescribed medications accurately, following the "five rights" (right patient, right medication, right dose, right route, right time). Monitor patients for medication effects and side effects, providing appropriate education and support.
  • Develop individualized care plans based on patients' needs, collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team. Ensure care plans are updated regularly, addressing any changes in patients' conditions or treatment plans.
  • Perform and document meticulous wound assessments, including the measurement of wounds and the application of appropriate dressings. Monitor wound healing progress and provide patient education on proper wound care techniques.
  • Educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatments, and self-care techniques. Provide guidance on managing medications, recognizing signs of complications, and promoting overall health and well-being.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care. Communicate patient updates, changes in condition, and any critical information to the healthcare team in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting assessments, interventions, and outcomes. Adhere to legal and ethical standards of nursing practice, ensuring confidentiality and privacy.

Qualifications:

  • Current New York State RN license
  • Minimum two years of experience in a med surg setting
  • BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
