Medical Diagnostic Sonographer

What You’ll Do
- Perform Diverse Ultrasound Exams
Conduct various ultrasound exams, including abdominal, pelvic, musculoskeletal, and vascular studies, ensuring accurate and high-quality imaging results. - Operate Ultrasound Equipment with Precision
Skillfully operate ultrasound equipment, adjusting settings as needed to ensure clear and precise images for optimal diagnostic outcomes. - Ensure Patient Comfort and Safety
Position patients properly and ensure their comfort and safety throughout the examination process. Offer clear instructions to ease any concerns they may have. - Collaborate with Healthcare Teams
Work alongside radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to analyze ultrasound findings and contribute to timely and informed diagnostic decisions. - Document Results Accurately
Document patient information and imaging results in the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system with precision and in compliance with healthcare regulations. - Follow Safety and Regulatory Guidelines
Adhere to safety protocols and regulatory standards, including HIPAA and AIUM, ensuring that all practices align with established healthcare guidelines. - Perform Equipment Maintenance
Regularly check and maintain ultrasound equipment to ensure it operates at its highest standard, promptly reporting any technical issues as they arise. - Commit to Ongoing Education
Stay current with the latest advancements in sonography technology and best practices by committing to professional development and continuous learning.
Qualifications
Education:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a related field.
Certification & Licensure:
- Current certification by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-S).
- State licensure as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer in New York, if applicable.
Experience & Skills:
- At least 1 year of experience as a Sonographer in a healthcare or hospital setting is preferred.
- Proficiency in operating ultrasound equipment and associated software.
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy and ultrasound techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly in a patient care environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team setting.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and occasional on-call shifts.
